Competition rules

1. Who runs it

Build of the Month is a promotional competition run by Madvatise Marketing (Pty) Ltd trading as QuickCut (registration number 2021/837184/09), 24 Lewis Road, CJJ Industrial Park, Strubenvale, Springs, 1559. Contact: info@quickcut.co.za.

2. Who can enter

• Anyone with a QuickCut client portal account whose project uses parts ordered from QuickCut.
• Directors, employees, agents and consultants of QuickCut, anyone who supplies goods or services to us in connection with this competition, and their spouses, life partners, business partners and immediate family members may not win.
• Entrants under 18 need the consent of a parent or guardian, who may be asked to accept the prize on their behalf.

3. How to enter

• Enter by adding a project in the client portal and ticking the Build of the Month box. Entry is free: you don't have to buy anything extra to enter.
• You can enter up to 10 projects a month. Each project can win once.
• Your photos must be of your own project and must be yours to share, or shared with the photographer's permission.
• We may decline entries that are offensive, unsafe, not made with QuickCut parts, or copied from someone else.

4. Competition period

Each month is a separate competition. It runs from 00:00 on the first day of the month to 23:59 on the last day of the month (South African time). Entries received after that go into the next month.

5. Choosing the winner

• QuickCut chooses one winner each month, judging on creativity, quality of the build and how well it uses laser-cut or bent parts. The quality of the photos is not judged.
• Our decision is final. We'll choose a winner within 7 days after the month ends, as long as at least one valid entry was received.

6. The prize

• The prize is R250 off one future QuickCut order, placed with the same account email, within 6 months of winning.
• The discount applies to parts, not to delivery. If the order is less than R250, the discount covers the whole parts amount and the rest falls away.
• The prize can't be exchanged for cash or transferred to someone else.

7. Announcing the winner

• We'll email the winner within 7 days of choosing them. The winner's project then shows as a winner in their portal.
• We'll announce the winner on our website using their first name, town (if given), project heading, write-up and photos.

8. Your photos and information

• By submitting a project, you allow QuickCut to show your photos, first name, heading and write-up on our website and social media, without payment. You still own your photos. Email us at any time to have a project removed from our website.
• We use your details only to run the competition and as described in our Privacy Policy.
• As required by the Consumer Protection Act, we keep records of entries and winners for 3 years.

9. General

• We may change or end the competition, with notice on this page. Changes won't affect a month that has already finished.
• These rules are governed by the laws of South Africa, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. Nothing in them limits your rights under that Act.
